IISc 2011 PhD. Mid Year Admissions
Indian Institute of Sciences, Bengaluru (IISc) conducts a mid year admission process for its PhD programmes. IISc is a premier institute in the field of science and engineering. The institute was established in the year 1909 and has a glorious past associated with it. IISc is a highly reputed institute with a very good infrastructure and highly qualified and skilled faculty. The institute provides education in Post Graduate and Research programs in various fields of science and engineering.
Candidates can apply for admission in to PhD programs through GATE / CSIR-UGC NET for JRF / UGC NET for JRF / IISc Entrance Test depending on their qualifications. The candidates shortlisted through any of these exams will be called for interviews before final selections. The candidates who have not appeared for any of these exams can also apply. They will be shortlisted through their performance in the qualifying exam as well as in 10th and 12th.
The institute invites application forms from the eligible candidates. The candidates should fill the form as per the institute norms and they have to send the form before the submission date. The selection is based on performance in interview to be conducted at the Institute. The selection procedure of the institute is one of the toughest for the candidates. This is an all India basis exam. In this Exam a lots of scholars take part and due to this to get success in this exam is a tough task for them.
The degree which is being offered by the institute is broadly classified in to two categories. First one is Degrees by Research in PhD, Integrated PhD and Master of Science in Engineering. The integrated program has a limited amount of course work which is essentially to prepare the students to carry out the research.
The main motto of this research is to write thesis on every work. The integrated program is so well designed to offer exciting opportunities to motivated and talented graduates. The institute provides PhD. Degree in High energy Physics, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology and Cell Biology, Molecular Biophysics, Development and Genetics, Neuroscience, Solid state and Structure Chemistry.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates having MSc./B.Tech/M.Tech/B.E./M.E. or equivalent in a relevant discipline can apply. Those in their final year can also apply.
How to Apply:
Candidates can get the application directly or by post from IISc by sending a demand draft of Rs. 700 (Rs. 350 for SC/ST) in favour of the Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore-560012 along with a request for the form. Candidates can also download the application form from its website and send it along with a demand draft of Rs. 500 (Rs. 250 for SC/ST) in favour of the Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore-560012.

I have completed MSC Microbiology and is willing to do Phd from IISC.During April’11 I was unable to give entrance exams because of my college exams.
