IIT JAM M.Sc in Applied Geology Entrance Exam 2012
Indian Institute of Technology conducts Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM) for the admittance of eligible candidates to its various Master of Science programmes. The test will be held at the national level and hence is highly competitive. Those talented candidates clearing the JAM will be admitted to the M.Sc course.
Structure of IIT JAM M.Sc in Applied Geology Entrance Exam
IIT JAM entrance exam will be for duration of 3 hours. There will be questions of both objective & subjective kind. The standard of questions will be of bachelor’s level. One is required to answer utmost number of questions within the limited time allotted.

Eligibility Criteria
The candidates those who have done their Bachelor’s degree with Geology as one of the compulsory subjects are eligible for the IIT JAM M.Sc in Applied Geology Entrance Exam. The candidates are also required to have studied any two subjects among Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Furthermore, one should have passed Mathematics at the 10+2 level.
How to Apply?
The candidates can apply for JAM either by offline or online method. For offline process, the application form along with the information brochure can be acquired on cash payment of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 900/- for female candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC / ST / PD candidates) from various branches of the Canara Bank. One can also procure the same by post from the JAM office of IIT Bombay for which a request accompanied with self addressed slip and Demand Draft has to be sent. The DD has to be drawn in favor of The Chairman, JAM, IIT Bombay, payable at Mumbai from any bank. For online mode, candidates can apply through the website: http://www.iitb.ac.in/jam. For this mode, fee payment has to be done in the form of DD of Rs. 900/- (Rs. 800/- for female candidates and Rs. 400/- for SC / ST / PD candidates). The completed application form along with the required enclosures has to reach JAM Office, IIT Bombay before the cutoff date.
How to fill the Form?
Filling of form has to be done very carefully devoid of any sort of errors. No column has to be left blank. The candidates can check the information brochure if they come across any queries. Also make sure that the entered data are apt so that the form doesn’t get rejected.
