The head of the department is an officer from the Indian Administrative Service cadre and the head office of the department is located in the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan.

Department of Information Technology and Communications, Rajasthan invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Information Assistant to work in different departments working under the Government of Rajasthan.

Pay Scale: Candidates will be appointed under the pay brand of Rs.5200-20200 + GP of Rs.2400

Eligibility Requirement:

Educational Qualification: To apply for the position of Information Assistant, candidates can have any of the following educational qualifications:

• Graduation in electronics or computer science/applications from a recognized university

• Three-year diploma in computer science & engineering or Post polytechnic diploma in Computer Applications from a Polytechnic Institution recognized by the Government

• Graduation in any discipline with diploma in computer science/application from a recognized institution

• Graduation in any discipline with O level or higher level certificate course conducted by DOEACC under the control of Electronics Department of Government of India

• Graduation in any discipline with a course certificate from state council of Vocational Training Scheme/Date Preparation and Computer Software (DPCS) certificate organized under state/national council of Vocational Training Scheme/Computer Operator & Programming

Apart from any of these qualifications, candidates should also possess a speed of 8000 key depression per hour on computer in English and Hindi.

Age: The minimum age requirement is 21 years and the maximum age requirement is 35 years as on 1st of July 2011.

Mode of Selection:

Selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the written test, which is planned to be held on 21st of August 2011. There will also be a speed test for judging the typing ability of the candidates. Application fee of Rs.350 is applicable for general category candidates and Rs.150 for reserved category candidates.
