Junior Engineer (CPWD) Exam 2012
The Staff selection Commission conducts an entrance examination across the country for the recruitment of Junior Engineers for civil as well as electrical branches in CPWD. The candidates those who are successful in clearing the test are eligible to join SSC as Junior Engineer.
Structure of CPWD Exam
The Junior CPWD examination has two parts. First paper is a written test which is upon 500 marks. The second paper of the test includes the personal interview and it is rated on 100 marks. Paper I and II will be in Hindi and English. Candidates have the choice to answer it in Hindi or in English. Paper two will be evaluated only if the particular candidate meets the minimum requirements in Paper I set by the Selection Staff Commission.
The part A is a written test which consists of two parts that is paper1 and paper2
Paper 1-It includes objective multiple choice questions.
General awareness- 25 questions (50 marks).
General Engineering (civil & structural) or General Engineering (Electrical & Mechanical) - 75 questions (150 marks).
Paper 2- It is of conventional type.
General Engineering (Civil & Structural) or General Engineering (Electrical & Mechanical) -30 marks.
Part B is a personality test (interview) upon 100 marks.
The personality test is conducted in such a manner that the candidate aptitude, interest, knowledge, suitability etc are probed through

Also in depth of knowledge in the subjects studied from 10th grade onwards is required. Over all personality and communication skills are also important criteria.
Syllabus for CPWD Exam
The questions from engineering subjects will be approximately from Diploma level (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) recognized by All India Council of Technical education.

Questions are designed in such a way to test the candidate’s general awareness and also to measure one’s knowledge in current affairs as they are expected from any educated person. The test also includes questions related to India and its neighboring countries which cover the following topics.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should hold a diploma in Civil or Mechanical engineering from a recognized university. The aspirants should not exceed 27 years of age on the specified date of the exam.
How to apply?
Junior Engineer (CPWD) application forms 2011 can be obtained from specified post offices and SSC official website. The duly filled applications should be sent along with the demand draft to the required address. The envelope with the application should be subscribed in capital letters as “Application for Junior Engineers (Civil & Electrical) Exam, 2011 with the name of the centre from where the candidate wishes to appear should be written in bold letters at the left side corner. The dully filled applications can also be submitted by hand to the Regional or Sub regional office within the stipulated time.
How to fill the form?
Documents to be attached along with the application
- Central Recruitment fee Stamps (CFRS) of Rs 100/- should be affixed.
- Recent passport size photograph should be pasted in the space given in the application form.
- A self addressed post card of Rs 6/-. The applicant should inscribe “Application for Junior Engineers (Civil & Electrical) Exam 2011” on the post card.
- Affix a self addressed envelope of 12 cms x 25 cms with postage stamps of Rs 5/- on it.
- Attested copies of 10th grade certificates as age proof, copies of certificates/provisional certificates should be produced towards educational qualifications.
Proper documents should be attached to claim SC/ST/OBC/PH benefits. Supportive documents to claim age relaxation.

Date of Notification: First Week of January , 2012
Closing date: Last Week of January, 2012
The duly filled application forms should reach the concerned Regional/Sub Regional Offices latest by: Last Week of January , 2012
Date of Examination: Third Week of March, 2012
Application forms reaching after the prescribed time will be rejected.

Study Plan

How and Where to get the Results?
The results will be available at ssc.nic.in/results/home on or before the month of July.
Score Validity
The score validity of CPWD exam is extended till the next CPWD exam occurs, which is supposed to be held the very next year.
