Profile:
Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) was established by the Central Government under the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948. The major objective behind the establishement of the corporation was to protect the interest of workers in problems like Sickeness, Maternity etc that results in the loss of wages or earning capacity of the workers. The major function performed by ESIC is to administer the scheme. The prescribed scheme was actually implemented in the year 1952 at Kanpur and Delhi.
Job Profile:
Employees’ State Insurance Corporation intends to fill 50 vacancies of Junior Hindi Translator in the pay band of Rs. 9300-34800 with a grade pay of Rs. 4200.
Eligibility:
Age of candidates should not be exceeding 28 years (as on 31 Janaury 2011). Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST candidates upto 5 years, for OBC candidates upto 3 years. Upper age limit is also relaxable for ESIC employees, Government servants, physically handicapped and ex-serviceman as per rules.
Educational Qualification:
Master’s degree of a recognized university in English/Hindi with Hindi/English as a compulsary and elective subject as degree level.
or
Bachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as main subjects which also includes the term compulsary and elective.
No. of posts: 50 vacancies are available.
For General category candidates: 24 posts.
For SC category candidates: 8 posts.
For ST category candidates: 3 posts.
For OBC category candidates: 15 posts.
Application Fee:
General and OBC candidates: Rs. 200 is the application fee.
SC/ST/PH/Ex-Serviceman and ESIC employees: Exempted from fee.
Mode of payment should be a demand draft only. It should be made in favour of E.S.I Corporation drawn on State Bank of India payable at New Delhi. This demand draft is need to be sent alongwith the application.
Selection Process:
A competitive examination will be held at Bangalore, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Delhi and Guhawati, However, corporation holds the right to not to conduct the examination in any one or more of the these centres. However, this will only happen in case the numbers of candidates are not adequate.
