University of Madras provides approximatley three thousand undergraduate and five thousand post graduate courses to its students. The university came into existence in the year 1857. The university is one of the oldest university of the country, established under an Act of Legislative Council of India. The university is located at Chennai and is regulated by University Grants Commission of the Central Government of India. The university is affiliated to University Grant Commission. The university has six campuses located in the city Chepauk, Marina, Maduravoyal, Guindy and Chetpet.

Job Profile:

University of Madras invites applications from the eligible and professional individuals for making recruitment on the positions of Junior Research Fellow and Research Associate. The location of posting for both the specified positions is Madras. Interested candidates are advised to check their eligibility before applying for any of the two mentioned posts.

Eligibility:

Candidates are required to meet with the eligibility condition regarding the maximum age limit set for the desired post. Interested candidates should have age more than the prescribed minimum age limit and also less than the prescribed maximum age limit. In case, candidates are having age less than the minimum age limit and more than the maximum age limit, their applications will not be accepted by the university.

Educational Qualification:

Junior Research Fellow: Candidates should have done M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized university for applying for the post of Junior Research Fellow. Candidates, who are CSIR NET qualified are desiarble for the post. They will get preference over other candidates.

Research Associate: Interested candidates should have done Ph.D degree in Chemistry from a recognized institute or university.

No. of posts: Several posts are available.

Pay Scale:

Junior Research Fellow: Consolidated salary of Rs. 16000 per month.
Research Associate: Consolidated salary of Rs. 22000 per month.

Selection Process:

Only shortlisted and eligible candidates will be allowed to appear in the personal interview test that will be held on a speicified date. Candidates are required to perform well in the interview test as only their performance in the personal interview test, will be the basis of their selection on the desired position in University of Madras.
