The Mathematics paper of Kerala Common Entrance Exam is a 60 marks paper to be answered in the total time duration of 80 minutes. All the questions will have four alternatives. There is rough space provided where a student can solve the questions. There is a separate answer sheet provided where the student is expect to darken the correct answer.

The syllabus for the exam comprises of a number of topics already dealt with in the earlier years. There are basically four units: Algebra, Geometry, Statistics and Calculus. From the Algebra portion one can expect questions related to sets, relations and functions, quadratic equations, complex numbers, permutations and combination, Matrices and trigonometry, etc. From the geometry section topics like lines, circles, cones, vectors and 3 dimensional geometry are covered. Statistics include Statistics and probability. The calculus part includes functions, limits and continuity, derivatives, etc.

It is important to note that the paper is a general one. All the above branches are covered in the paper. However these branches are not sharply demarcated. You need to be quick in your calculations and analysis if you wish to complete your paper on time. Remember that the total time for answering questions is only 70 minutes.
