Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission consists of a Chairman and fourteen other members. The commission was established under Article 316 to 319, Government of India. The the members of the commission are appointed by the Governor of Tamil Nadu. Mr. Thiru R. Sellamuthu is the Honourable Chairman of the commission. The responsibility of ensuring the implementation of commission’s various decisions is handled by the secretary of the commission only. The major function of the commission is to make direct recruitment to state, subordinate and ministerial services and also to conduct departmental examinations for Government servants.

Job Profile:

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for filling up the vacant position of Labour Officer in Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. All eligible and qualified candidates should apply for the specified post before the last date for the reciept of application. The job of a Labour Officer includes the responsibility of protecting the rights of the labours and also to strengthen them in every possible way against any kind of injustice being done to them.

Eligibility:

Candidates are required to strictly fulfill this age criteria or else they will not be considered eligible for the post of Labour Officer. Candidates are required to have age less than 30 years as on 1 July 2011. Candidates having age more than the prescribed age limit will not be considered eligible by the commission for the specified post. No information is available regarding the relaxation provided to the reserved categories candidates in the upper age limit set for the post.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates should have done Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. Graduation is the minimum educational qualification required for applying on the posts of Labour Officer in Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. Candidates having qualification less than the prescribed minimum educational qualification will not be considered eligible for the post and their application will be discarded straightaway by the commission. Some other qualifications are also desirable by the commission for the respective post. Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be given the prescribed amount of salary under Pay Band III i.e. Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

Selection Process:

Selection of candidates on the specified post of Labour Officer will be made through the conduct of a Written test followed by a Personal Interview test. Only shortlisted candidates of thw Written test will be called for the Personal interview test.
