With the aim or promoting excellence in the field of teachers’ education, the Tamil Nadu Government has enacted Act. No. 33 of 2008 for the formation of Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University. After this, the act came into effect from the 1st of July 2008 by a Government order dated 25th of June 2008. The university was formed with different objectives like providing high quality education, monitoring education for teachers according to the approval of National Council for Teacher Education in the state and to provide honorary degrees in teacher education. The university is interested in obtaining excellence in promotion of human values for the sake of the harmony of the society and to excel through extension, research and teaching activities. The Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University is offering bachelor, masters, M. Phil and Ph. D in different courses of study.
