Bharat University came into existence in the year 1984 as Bharat Institute of Science and Technology and the university came into existence under the guidance of Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust. The institution came into existence with the objective of imparting higher education in the fields of science and technology to the future generation in such a way that they can emerge as technologists, engineers and scientists of great repute.
The institution got the status of deemed university in the year 2003 from the University Grants Commission. The university is committed to the task of offering quality education that will transform the students into successful and efficient careerists. Bharat University admits students to the UG and PG courses through All India Entrance Examination. For UG admission, entrance examination is conducted during the month of April/May every year, while for PG admission, entrance test is conducted during the month of May/June every year.
