The Central University of Haryana came into existence through the Central Universities Act 2009 and the university is currently operating from a temporary building in the Government B. Ed College at Narnaul. The university is going to be located in an area spread over a land area of 500 acres on the Mahendergarh-Dadri Road in the state of Haryana. The new building is going to be the own building of the university, which is the construction stage. The university not only exist for dissemination of knowledge, but also it is entrusted with the responsibility of creation of innovation and knowledge.

Central University of Haryana is planning to introduce a number of schools in the faculties of earth, environment & space studies, life sciences, physical & mathematical sciences, computer science & informatics, engineering & technology, medical sciences, agriculture & allied sciences, chemical sciences, arts, humanities & social sciences, language, linguistics, culture & heritage, life-long learning, law, governance, public policy & management and journalism, mass communication & media. These schools of education will be launched by the university in phases. The ministry of human resource development of Government of India has approved the university to different departments ranging from agri-business to zoology. The Central University of Haryana is presently offering only a few courses and the list of the same is given below:
