List of Courses in Ravenshaw University, Cuttack
Ravenshaw University came into existence in the year 2006 on the 15th of November and actually came into existence as Ravenshaw College in the year 1868. Due to the glorious educational achievements of the college, it was upgraded as autonomous college with CPE status by the University Grants Commission and was offered with A grade status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
The Ravenshaw College was initially affiliated to the Calcutta University, later it came under the jurisdiction of Patna University, and finally it was working under Utkal University. Ravenshaw University has 27 departments under its control, out of which 20 are PG Departments and 14 of these departments offer Ph. D courses. The university presently offer more than 23 PG courses, 27 honors courses at the UG level and there is also research facilities in the university.
Some of the departments functioning under the university are geology, English, education, economics, commerce & business management, chemistry, biotechnology, botany, Bengali, applied geography, zoology, Urdu & Persian languages, statistics, sociology, Sanskrit, psychology, political science, physics, philosophy, Oriya, mathematics, history and Hindi. The university offers general and self-financing courses through these departments at UG, PG and M. Phil levels and the list of courses offered by the university is given below:

In the UG courses offered by the university some of the subjects like India Society and culture, M.I.L, English and evolution of life/environmental studies and computer applications are offered as compulsory courses, while some of the subjects like Hindi, psychology, sociology, geography and education are offered as optional subjects. The university also offers coaching for some of the competitive examinations.
