Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Science is India’s first rural medical college. This institute is located in Wardha, Maharastra. The institute offers undergraduate course, post graduate courses, Diploma courses and Ph.D courses in different streams in Medicine. Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences Pre Medical Test is an entrance exam conducted for admission for M.B.B.S. course.

Structure of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences Pre Medical Test

Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences Pre Medical Test consists of two papers. The first paper will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The pattern of the entrance test will be multiple choice type questions. There will be 60 questions in each subject. The applicant is expected to answer all the questions in the common answer sheet. There will be four circles against each question. The candidate should shade the circle corresponding to the correct answer or option. For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 1 mark. If any answer has multiple shading it will be considered as wrong. Scratching, ticking and overwriting will be considered as invalid answers.

The total time for the entrance exam is 180 minutes. The second paper will be on The Gandhian thoughts. The duration of this paper will be three hours. The questions will be essay type questions or short answer type questions. The total marks for the second paper is 60. The paper can be answered in either Hindi or English. The candidate will be provided with a 32 page answer sheet for answering the second paper. No additional supplementary answer sheet will be provided.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate appearing for Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences Pre Medical Test should fulfil the following criteria.

  • The applicant should be an Indian National.
  • The applicant must have attained 17 years of age on or before the prescribed date.
  • The applicant should be medically fit so as to pursue the professional course.
  • The applicant should have completed 12th from a recognized university or Board under 10 + 2 system.
  • The candidate should have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually and in the same attempt.
  • The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together.
  • There will be no rounding of marks for the candidate in the qualifying exam.
  • The candidates appearing for 12th standard can also apply provided they pass the qualifying exam with the required percentage at the time of admission.

How to Apply?

The candidate can obtain the prospectus along with the application form from the office of The Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences. The cost of the application form is Rs. 1000/-. The candidate can also obtain the application form by post. In such case the candidate has to send a Money Order for Rs. 1100/- in favor of the Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram, District Wardha - 442102 . The candidate should enter the full address in capital letters along with the phone number in the space for communication and the space for sender’s address on the money order form. The candidate should send in the completed application form along with the Entrance Examination Fee of Rs. 1500/- on or before the last date of submission.

The candidate should fill in the application form carefully with out any errors. The applicant should fill in the application form personally. The candidate should provide full address of communication along with the Pin code. The candidate should cross check all the entries once again before submitting the form.
