Marian Engineering College is one of the premier institutes for pursuing engineering in Kerala. The college was founded in 2001 and is a Self Financing institution. The campus is located near to Techno Park and is spread over a vast area of 40 acres. The National Minorities Commission has accorded this Institute Minority status for the uplift of the Minority classes. This is a co-education college and is affiliated to the University of Kerala.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission:

The candidate must be an Indian citizen and should have passed higher secondary grade with minimum 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combined together. The candidates should have completed 17 years before applying for admission.

The process of selection is based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the State Commissioner for Entrance Examination and upon the marks obtained in higher secondary grade. Apart from the open merit, certain reservations are there for community and reserved category students. The detailed fee structure and break up are given in the college web site.

Facilities:

The college maintains a separate lab for respective department with well equipped instruments for the benefit of the students. The library has more than 15,000 volumes of books and is fully computerized. The college holds a separate hostel for boys and girls with all necessary amenities. Ten buses ply around the city for transporting students from various parts of the city.

Placement:

The college has a separate cell for placement known as Career Guidance & Placement cell. Its aim is to bring together the students and various industries and create an interaction between the institute and industry officers. The cell conducts number of skill tests, workshops and group discussions and model interviews for training the students for better placement.
