Graduation in Botany with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate is the basic educational qualification required for this course. Those who have completed this course can work as plant Scientist, Forester, etc.

An overview on M. Sc in Plant Science

Candidates who wish to join Master of Science in Plant Science should have completed graduation in Biology with Botany as one subject. The duration of the course is 2 years. Those who have completed post graduation in Plant Science can go for higher studies such as doctoral programmes. Apart from this, candidates can seek employment as Forester, Ecologists or Plant Scientists. Public sector organizations such as Geological Survey of India are one of the major employers in this sector. Apart from these, candidates who clear the NET exam can work as Lecturers in government colleges.

Apart from this, science graduates who have studied Botany as one of the subjects can also apply for this course. Most of the colleges require a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in qualifying exam. Those who are belonging to reserved categories can seek relaxation up to 5% marks in qualifying marks.

Admission procedure to this course slightly differs from college to college. Most of the colleges conduct their own entrance examination for admission process. For instance admission in Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohil Khand University is based on M.Sc. Entrance examination conducted by M.J.P.R.U.
