Biotechnology is a mixture of Biology and Technology. M.Tech in Biotechnology includes study of all the biological components and its applications. Biotechnology includes detailed study of the entire bio- organism and its detailed application with technological aspects. M.Tech in Biotechnology helps the students in knowing the technological applications of Biological organisms. The advantages, disadvantages, as well as various other impacts of organisms are studied in detail under this subject and based on the analysis; a conclusion is drawn that helps in determining the application of that organism. Thus, the study of Biotechnology tends to be very beneficial for the mankind.
One needs to have a B.Tech degree in order to get admission in the course of M.Tech in Biotechnology.
Course Outlook:
The course of M.Tech in Biotechnology is of 2 years. The course is full time course and is divided in 4 equal parts of 6 months each. Each part is known as a semester. One needs to clear an examination, which is held every 6 months.
Job Prospects:
There are plenty of jobs available in the market for the M.Tech in Biotechnology degree holders. One can opt for Pharmaceutical or other Chemical industries or can work in the production department of any industries in the research and development wing. Hi I am a B.Tech Biotechnology graduate form SRM University, a 2008 pass and eversince I have ben looking for job. Everyone speaks great about biotech but I feel much deprived and dissappointed, it is because of the unemployment. Every company that I approached required experience, I wonder how the others got in, few reasons being backdoor, political recommendation, fake experience are the ones I found helping in getting the first biotech job. This is not fare at all, I am losing my grip on the subject and every training institute that I approached, be it Clinical research(very high fee), projects are not in the reach of common man with very high fee and are unable to provide proper help for placing the trained. Please any one help me of at least give me any suggestion about the best books for getting into IIT/NIITs through GATE 2010 for M.Tech biotech. After all I have started the journey of biotech and still my dream of contributing to scientific fields is not dying. Hope at least an M.Tech can be of help.
