Admission Procedure for M.Tech in Information Technology in Tamil Nadu

Engineering degree holders or M.Sc graduates can apply for M.Tech degree in Information Technology. The degree must be obtained in any of the streams of computer science, information technology, or software engineering. MCA graduates are also eligible to apply for the program.

GATE or TANCET score is considered for admissions in most of the colleges. Other than this, SRM University conducts their own entrance exam for selection process. The exam called SRMEE includes 100 objective model questions. Total marks for the test is 300. Each right answer carries 3 marks. For every wrong answer one mark is deducted. Syllabus of the exam is same as that of GATE.

Vel Tech Technical University offers admissions on the basis of candidate’s score in written exam, qualifying degree level exam and personal interview. Written exam is conducted in objective type model and include questions for 100 marks. Time allotted for the completion of the test is 2 hours. There is no negative marking for the test.
