Graduates below 27 years of age can apply for the post of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer in Intelligence Bureau. Applications should be submitted via the official website of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Online or offline method can be selected for submitting applications. Selection of suitable candidate is done on the basis of a written exam conducted by IB.

Eligibility Requirements for IB Assistant Central Intelligence Officer – Grade II/Executive Examination

Graduates in any stream are eligible to apply. Apart from this, basic knowledge in computers is also desirable for the post. Age of the applicant must be less than 27 years (as on 19.8.2012). OBC candidates can have age relaxation up to 3 years where as SC/ST candidates can have relaxtin up to 5 years.

Exam Pattern for IB Assistant Central Intelligence Officer – Grade II/Executive Examination

There will be two papers for the exam, namely Paper I and Paper II. Paper I include objective model questions where as Paper II include descriptive type questions. Questions for Paper I is based on topics such as mathematical aptitude, reasoning, general awareness, and English language. Paper II includes questions on essay and précis writing. Total time allotted for completing these two papers is 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Application Procedure for IB Assistant Central Intelligence Officer – Grade II/Executive Examination

Applications can be forwarded through online mode via the official website of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Application form includes two separate sections. The first part is meant for entering the personal details, educational details and the contact information of the applicant. After completing first part registration successfully, candidate can move to the second part of application form. Here they should select the option for fee payment. Fee payment can be made again through online/offline method.

Candidates selecting offline payment mode, will be issued with an online challan form. This may contain the name, account number, and registration ID of the candidate. Fee payment can be made only after three hours using the print out of challan form issued. Fee amount of Rs. 100/- must be deposited through any branch of SBI. SC/ST/Women candidates are exempted from fee payment.

Online payment can be opted only if the candidate has a valid savings bank account with SBI. Fee payment can be made via internet banking facility or ATM cum debit card. After making the payment successfully, a confirmation message regarding fee payment will be flashed in the system. The system also generates a registration slip (comprising the registration ID of the applicant), which must be kept for future reference.
