Business Process Re-engineering of the Mumbai University typically includes business process fundamentals, business processes and visualization, flowcharting and its types, types of re-engineering, process improvement with cost reduction, total quality management, customer focused analysis of business processes, benchmarking - internal and external, origin of benchmarking, value adding activities, use of information technology to fasten the processes etc.,

Question Paper Pattern

It consists of 7 questions out of which answering the first question is mandatory and any 4 can be answered out of the remaining 6. The questions may be further divided but there is an equal distribution of marks as all of them carry 20 marks each. All the questions are subjective type and imaginary figures can be added to present your perspective well.

Critical areas

Fundamental aspects of business process re-engineering in various sectors and the project budget, total quality management (deming’s, crosby’s, juran’s steps for its implementation), change control and management, redesign aspects, role of information technology should be given prime importance. Quoting examples would definitely give an edge over the others. But, they should be viable and realistic. For better staging, specific assumptions can be made like suggestions for improving the topic in bold in our country.

Time allotted and Maximum marks

The duration of the exam is 3 hours and the maximum marks are 100.
