National Institute of Ayurveda MD / MS Ayurveda Entrance Test 2012
National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) conducts entrance exam every year for the selection of eligible candidates to its MD / MS Ayurveda programme. The screening of candidates will be done on the basis of marks secured in the entrance test conducted by the Institute.
Structure of National Institute of Ayurveda MD / MS Ayurveda Entrance Test
The entrance exam will be an objective type written test. There will be a total of 80 questions each carrying 1 mark. The questions will be from the syllabus of the disciplines of graduate course. Duration of the test will be 90 minutes. The candidates have to select the best of the available answers. There will be negative marking of ¼ marks for each wrong answer.

- Kayachikitsa (general medicine)
- Kaumarabritya (paediatrics)
- Shalya tantram (surgery)
- Swastha vrittam (social and preventative medicine)
- Roga vijnanam and vikriti vijanam (principls of diagnosis and pathology)
- Ayurveda itihasa (History of Ayurveda)
- Shalakya tantram (ENT, dentistry, ophthalmology)
- Rasashastra and bhaishajyakalpana (medicinal chemistry and pharmacy)
- Rachana shareeram (anatomy)
- Prasuthi tantra and stri roga (gynecology and obstetrics)
- Dravyaguna vijnanam (ayurvedic pharmacology)
- Padartha vijnanam (Indian epistemology and world view) Sanskrit
- Kriya shareeram (physiology)
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates who have done their Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (Ayurvedacharya Degree) from University of Rajasthan are eligible to apply for the entrance test. Those who have passed any other equivalent exam which is recognized by the Rajasthan Ayurveda University, Jodhpur or University of Rajasthan, Jaipur and Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar may also apply. The candidates must also have completed Internship / House Job after passing the qualifying examination.
How to Apply?
The application form along with the information brochure of the entrance exam can be downloaded from the official website www.ayurveduniversity.edu.in and www.nia.nic.in. There is also a provision to fill the application form via online from the website www.ayurveduniversity.edu.in. The duly filled in application form along with the required enclosures should be sent to the Director, I.P.G.T. & R.A before the due date. The fee payment of Rs. 1250/- (Rs. 900/- for SC/ST candidates) can be done either by demand draft drawn in favor of “Director, I.P.G.T. & R.A., Jamnagar or by various online modes.
How to fill the Form?
The candidates have to fill all the columns in the form very carefully. All the necessary instructions to be followed while filling the form are clearly mentioned in the information brochure. The candidates are advised to thoroughly read it before filling the form. One also needs to confirm that the completed application form and other enclosures reach the concerned address before the due date. One passport size photo & photocopy of final year mark sheet of BAMS also have to be enclosed along with the application form.
