NET is the acronym of National Eligibility Test. This is a competitive exam that is taken by those who want to become professors and lecturers in various universities in the country. Those who want to pursue PhD courses also need to take the exam. This competitive exam and is held at the national level.  Folk literature (Paper 2) is one of the 12 elective papers that the candidates can choose from.

Type of question paper

The paper consists of multiple choice questions only. There are fifty questions in all. To each question four choices are available and only one of the four are correct. The questions are printed in both Hindi and English to ensure readability for all candidates.

Evaluation and time allotment

The paper is for a total of 100 marks. A question carries 2 marks. There are no negative marks for answering the questions wrongly. The candidates are allotted 1 hour and 15 minutes for completing the paper. No extra time will be provided. No reading time will be allotted and the seal should be broken only on the instruction of the supervisor.

Preparing for the exam

When you are starting to prepare for the exam, take note of the syllabus and ensure to study whatever is given in it. After that you need to keep you memory up by working out previous year question papers. This will help to understand the paper pattern better.
