National Institute of Technology, Surathkal has been imparting technical education for a while now and has been a first choice among students who want to pursue engineering. The institute is funded by the Government and offers programs like B. Tech, M. Tech and PhD in different fields of engineering. This institute was earlier known as Karnataka regional Engineering College and was established in 1960. It got the new name and the status of a deemed university in 2002.
Courses Offered: The College offers a diversified number of subjects in engineering. Some of them are civil engg, Electrical and Electronics engg, Chemical engg, Computer engg, Information Technology, Mechanical engg and Mining engg. Post Graduation is available in subjects like civil engg, mechanical engg, chemical engg, mathematical and computational sciences and electrical and electronics engg.
Placement: The placement in this Institute starts in the beginning of the final year. Many companies come to this institute to pick future professionals. The institute has a record in getting more than 95% students placed every year. Some brilliant students even get more than 1 job. Some of the companies are Adobe, NTPC, TCS and Wipro.
Infrastructure: The institute has a campus of more than 250 acres and has the full residential capacity for its students. The college is equipped with modern labs, up to date equipments, well furnished libraries and auditorium.

Eligibility: To be eligible for this college, one must obtain at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the 10+2 levels.
