PEC Chandigarh, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh
Punjab Engineering College was earlier known as East Punjab Engineering College. It got this name just after partition. It was also the time when the institute shifted to Chandigarh from Punjab. The first courses that were taught in this engineering college were mechanical engg. and civil engg. But with time different other courses were added to the profile of this institute. It got the status of a deemed university in the year 2004.
Courses Offered: The College offers various courses in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Different departments in which college offers B. tech are Aeronautical Engg., Computer Engg., Civil Engg., Electronics and Electrical Engg., Electrical Engg., Mechanical Engg., Information Technology., Production Engg. and Metallurgical Engg. Post Graduation courses are available in subjects like irrigation and hydraulics, highways, structures, power systems and many more.
Infrastructure: The institute is well spread in a sprawling area of over 160 acres. The college boasts of its well spaced classrooms, managed laboratories and libraries containing books on nearly all the subjects. The campus is divided into many buildings and is connected by greenery all around. The college has 24X7 internet connectivity and provides hostel capacity to many students.
Placement: The students of this college are endowed with a very strong training and placement cell. The cell has cordial relations with many companies and it helps the students in getting a good offer. Nearly all the students of this institute get placed in good companies and some even get more than one company to choose from.
Admission Procedure: The right of admission to the B. Tech courses of this college is strictly through AIEEE. A student must stand in merit list of AIEEE for getting a much coveted seat in this college.

I have passed out my diploma in chemical engg in year 2000 and have provisional certificate issued by govt polytechnic for women, Ropar, but due to some personal problem I couldn’t able to get issued my original Complete Diploma certificate. Can you help me to tell me the procedure of getting original certificate (after such a long gap) now. Whom i should approach and do i have to give proper reason of delaying in getting issued it? Also can i apply govt job on the basis of provisional certificate, will it be valid? Pls solve my query.
