Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences conducts an admission process for admission to its PostGraduate Medical programmes like MS, MD and PG Diploma. Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences is part of HIHT (Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust) University and was established in 1995. It is the only institute in Uttarakhand which offers Post Graduate Medical courses. In 2007 it got the status of a deemed university by University Grants Commission.

The Institute has been recognized for the overall dedication in the medical based science that it has provided. Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences conducts Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (PGMEE) for admission to its PG Medical courses. The entrance exam is conducted at the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences. The institute is approved by Medical Council of India. It is located in a serene and peaceful location at Dehradun-Rishikesh highway which provides a great atmosphere. The campus is fully residential with appropriate facilities.

Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate must have done MBBS from an institute recognized by Indian Medical Council or any of the State Medical councils. The candidates who will complete their internship before 31st March 2011 can also apply. These respective candidates although on the other hand provide the certificate of merit on or before the due date that is established by the Institute itself. Failure to do so may result in cancelling of the admission itself. The final decision relating to the decision solely resides on the Admission Committee of the Institute.

Application Forms:

The application forms can be downloaded through the institute’s website www.hihtuniversity.org. Candidates have to fill the form and send it along with a demand draft to the institute. The candidates that are interested in earning their application form through post have to send a requisite letter mentioning the registration number at the top side. The candidates are also advised to offer a specimen of their signature at the back side of the Demand Draft.
