Work environment may vary immensely with the kind of work a pharmacists does. Retail pharmacists work in drug stores and occasionally have to travel for making stock purchases. The medical representative job is an outdoor exercise with a lot of touring and travelling. The hospital pharmacists work in a laboratory and a medical store. Industrial pharmacists generally work in manufacturing units supervising production.

Pharmacists must have a scientific bent of mind and should have the interest in medicine. The academic acumen of pharmacists can range from average to superior. Pharmacists in research and industries should have excellent academic potential. Sympathetic attitude, caring mannerisms and a friendly disposition are required for dealing with patients.
