Rajiv Gandhi University was established in the year 1984 under Government of India. Initially the university was named Arunachal university but later it got its present name. Professor K. C. Belliappa is the Vice Chancellor of the university. The administrative control of the university is in the hnads of Ministry of Human Resource Development. The university has a rural campus. The university is affiliated to the University Grants Commission. The university actually got awarded with the status of being a central university after an act of Parliament. The university is comprises of different departments.

An application fee of Rs. 200 is need to be submitted by the General and OBC candidates. No application fee is need to be paid by the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories. The payment of application fee must be done in the form of a demand draft. The demand draft should be drawn in favour of Registrar payable at SBI, Doimukh/ Vijay Bank, Doimukh.

Candidates must also send the demand draft of requisite application fee (Rs. 200 for General and OBC candidates (SC/ST/PWD candidates are exempted from the payment)) alongwith the application form.
