Central Institute of Psychiatry was established in the year 1918 under Government of India. The institute is situated in Ranchi, Jhanrkhand. Dr. S. Haque Nizamie is the dean of the university. Initially the institute was established as a hospital with the name Ranchi European Lunatic Asylum to catered to the needs of the European mental patients only. The institute established the Indian Psychiatric Society in the year 1948. The institute was made affiliated to the University of London for the Diploma in Psychological Medicine examination in the year 1922.

Posts of Professor are available in Human Rights and Conflict Management, Tribal and Customary Law, Geo Informatics and Applied Mathematics.

1. Recruitment of Professor:
No. of posts: Only 4 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should be an eminent scholar with Ph.D. degree in concerned discipline. Minimum 10 years of experience is also need to be possessed by the candidates in the field of teaching or research.

Posts of Associate Professor are available in Human Rights and Conflict Management, Tribal and Customary Law, Geo Informatics, Management Studies and Applied Mathematics.

2. Recruitment of Associate Professor:
No. of posts: Only 10 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Good academic record with Ph.D degree in concerned discipline and minimum 55% marks in aggregate at Master’s degree level. Minimum 8 years experience is also need to be possessed by the candidates in teaching or research field.

Posts of Assistant Professor are available in Human Rights and Conflict Management, Tribal and Customary Law, Geo Informatics, Far East Languages, Economics, Sociology, Management Studies and Applied Mathematics.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Professor:
No. of posts: Only 24 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a good academic record with minimum 55% marks in aggregate at the Master’s degree level from a recognized university. Besise this, candidates should also have cleared the National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC, CSIR.

Application Fee:

Candidates are required to pay or submit the application fee of prescribed amount by the means of a cross demand draft. Application fee must be submitted by General and OBC candidates only as candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH categories are exempted from the payment of fee. Rs. 1000 is the amount of application fee for General and OBC candidates. The crossed demand draft should be drawn in favour of Central University of Jharkhand payable at Ranchi.
