An electromagnetic Field Theory paper is there in the 5th Semester of PTU, B. Tech course of Electrical Engineering. The entire paper is separated into two parts, one is Class Work, which includes 50 marks and another one is for Exam which carries 100 marks.

In Unit 1, you will learn about Static Electric Fields. Here you will be taught about Coulomb’s Law, Gauss’s Law, etc. In Unit 2, you will be learning about the Steady Magnetic Fields. This unit aims at make you aware of various static magnetic fields, which influences the flow of electricity. Here you will be learning about Faraday Introduction Law, Ampere’s Force Law, Magnetic Vector Potential and various other theories related to the subject.

Then in Unit 3 you will be learning about the Time Varying Fields. The primary thing you will be learning in this segment is all about inconsistency of Ampere’s Law, Maxwell Field Equations and their interpretation and various other theories relating to the subject. In Unit 4 you will learn about Reflection as well as Refraction of E M Waves. In Unit 5 you will be learning about Transmission Theory.
