Most of the reputed Universities in India have been established very early, decades ago. But with an ever increasing reputation for one of the best Universities around offering graduate, post graduate and PhD degrees in a number of disciplines is the Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, which was established in the year 1998. With a shining excellence in the sector of Technical Education, Innovation and the Research sector, this Institute stands tall and each year, accepts a great number of applicants desiring a place in the University as lecturers and as students.

PhD degrees in various disciplines or fields of study are offered by the Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya. But the number of seats for the PhD will be based on the number of supervisors for that particular field. The Entrance exam is conducted once in a year.

Structure of the PhD Civil Engineering Entrance Exam

The PhD Civil Engineering Entrance Examination is quite similar to most other University Entrance examination as it consists of Objective type questions. The exam will also comprise of questions coming under the subjective category.  The exam will last for only 2 hours and reportedly, most questions asked in the exam will be related to the topics from the applicants’ post graduate degree.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a PhD course in the Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, the applicant should be a qualified post graduate degree holder. The applicant should have a minimum GPA of 60% in the Post Graduate degree. Applicants belonging to Scheduled castes are subject to a relaxation in the minimum marks requirement. Such candidates need only 50% qualifying marks in their post graduate degree. The Post graduation must be under a University well and approved by the authorities and should be deemed as well.

The candidate will be permitted to pursue only those subjects that come under the field of study of the candidates in their post graduate degree or in that subject which is closely related to the PG degree.

The candidates are allowed to have their PhD degree in an allied subject, which is supposedly a subject which is interdisciplined and may be under the same or different faculty. The candidates are supposed to let the Academic Council know of their choice and the Academic Council alone will decide whether the candidates PG or Bachelor’s degree confirms that the chosen subject is allied to it.
