U.P. Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Sewa Aayog, often conducts selection of technical graduates to the position of Assistant/Junior Engineer. Engineering/diploma holders in subjects of electrical engineering/ electronics engineering/mechanical engineering can apply to these positions. Selection process is done through an objective model written test (for 200 marks), GD and interview. Graduates in any subject can join office assistant position in UPRVUNL. Recruitment is done on the basis of written test, typing test and interview.

Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Engineer (Trainee)

Engineering degree holders in subjects of electrical engineering/ electronics engineering/mechanical engineering can apply. Apart from, applicant needs to have enough knowledge of Hindi, especially in Devnagari Script. Those who have not studied Hindi as a subject during matriculation, have to clear another exam. Such candidates should pass the departmental examination conducted by the Registrar, Government of Uttar Pradesh within 3 years of joining.

Eligibility Criteria for Junior Engineer

Diploma holders in any of the following subjects are eligible for the position of Junior Engineer.

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

Apart from this, applicant needs to have enough knowledge of Hindi, especially in Devnagari Script and otherwise, they should pass the departmental examination conducted by the Registrar, Government of Uttar Pradesh within 3 years of joining.

Eligibility Criteria for Office Assistant-III

Bachelor degree from a recognized University is the basic qualification required. These candidates must have adequate typing speed in Hindi or English (on computer) at the rate of 35 or 40 words per minute.

Selection Procedure in UPRVUNL

Selection process is done on the basis of a written test of objective model. Questions will be asked for 200 marks from the following subject areas.

  • English language and Comprehension
  • General Hindi and comprehension
  • General Knowledge
  • Logical Deduction
  • Numerical Ability
  • Reasoning
  • Concerned subject

There will 10 questions each from the topics of English language and comprehension & general Hindi and comprehension. Sessions of general knowledge, reasoning and logical deduction carries 15 marks each. Questions from the concerned subject area will be for 120 marks. Total time allotted for the completion of the test is 3 hours. Only one exam center is allotted for attending the written test and that is Lucknow.

Candidates having qualified the written test must get through group discussion and interview to join the job position of ‘Assistant Engineer’. For the positions of Junior Engineer, candidates qualified in written test should pass an interview and for the profile of Office Assistant-III, candidates should clear a typing test and interview.
