National Physical Laboratory is premier research laboratory of the country in the field of physical sciences. It carries out R&D work in the areas like engineering materials, electronic science, radio and space physics, environmental studies and material characterization etc.

Job profile: The research associates and the research fellows will be required to carry out the R&D work in various departments and they will be required to provide assistance to their senior officers in various projects.

Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age of 28 years for project assistant level II, 32 years for PA level III, 35 years for PA level IV, 32 years for a research fellow and 35 years in some cases.

Education Qualifications: For PA level IV – A candidate must have a PhD in the relevant field plus a relevant experience. For PA level II – A candidate must bean M.Sc in the relevant field, for PA level III – A candidate must be an ME/M.TECH and for RA and RF – A candidate must have a PhD in the relevant field. No. of vacancies: There are 3 vacancies for RA/SRF and 1 for JRF, 13 for PA level II and 6 for PA level III/IV.

Pay scale: For SRF the pay scale will be Rs15000/14000 per month plus HRA, for research associate it will be Rs16000 plus HRA, for junior research fellow it will be Rs12000 plus HRA, for level II PA it will be Rs12000 plus HRA, for level III it will be Rs14000 and for level IV it will be 16000 plus HRA.

Selection procedure: The selection will be on the basis of the merit. The candidates will have to appear for an interview on 20th August 2009 at 10.00 AM. Reporting time is 9.30 AM.

They are required to bring their original as well as photo copied documents at the time of the interview. The candidates are required to gather in the auditorium of the laboratory.
