Sangeet Niketan is a music college that came into existence in the year 1950 on the 1st of January. In the year 1952, the institute got recognition from Public Society and in the same year, it got affiliation from the Central India’s Education Department. Later in the year 1958, the institute got affiliation from the Indira Kala Sangit University located in the Khairagarh. Right from the year 1958, the college is conducting examinations of Indira Kala Sangit University that are approved by the state and the central government.

Sangeet Niketan has branches at East, South and Central Delhi, the institute holds the pride of being the only institution in the state of Delhi with Chartered University affiliation for classical dance and music courses. The institute is supported by state governments of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Facilities offered by the institute:

The institute offers transportation facility to the students on hired basis. The other facilities available in the campus of the institute are a common room for teachers, seven VCP/VCR, a television and a PC with internet connection of 100 Mbps. The institute is served by 12 eminent teachers and the principal of the college Mrs. Chakravarty Ram Mohan Rai is an eminent Akashwani Artist.

Campus of the college:

The institute is functioning in a rented building with five halls and five classrooms. The campus also includes a library that can accommodate 10 students at a time. The library has a collection of nearly 2000 books, nearly 65 multimedia literatures and the library is subscribing to two journals related to the field of vocal & instrumental music and dances. Books in Sanskrit, English and Hindi languages are available in the library for immediate reference of the staff members and students.
