The State Bank of India long with its associate banks has published the notification for the selection of Probationary Officers. The applications are expected from the eligible candidates for the above said post.

Structure of SBI  Asso. Banks PO Exam

The exam consists of two phases.  The first phase is a combined objective and descriptive test. The time allotted for this test is three hours. The test consists of the following papers.

  • Test of English Language (Grammer, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc)
  • Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
  • Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
  • Test of Reasoning (High Level)

The objective test is of two hours duration while the descriptive test is for I hour. The descriptive test consists of English comprehension, short précis, letter writing as well as essay. It is rated upon 250 marks. The descriptive test is conducted only for those candidates who score high percentile in all of the above said four objective tests. In order to get qualified for the second phase the candidate should obtain at least 40% aggregate in the first round.

The second phase consists of discussion and interview. It is rated upon 50 marks. The candidate should secure at least 40% aggregate for this phase in order to get qualified. The candidates those who pass successfully in both the two phases of the examination are considered for the final selection. The marks obtained by the candidates in both the phases are normalized to 75 and 25 respectively. After normalization of the marks to 100, a merit list is made in descending order according to the scores obtained by the candidates. It will be published on the Bank’s official website in the Employment News category.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates those who wish to apply must be a graduate from any recognized University. The age of the candidate should fall between 21 to 30 years. The age relaxation for OBC and SC/ST candidates are 3 and 5 years respectively.

How to Apply?

The candidates are advised to download the application forms from the Bank’s Official website. The payment against the application form can be remitted at any branch of the State Bank of India. Make sure that the duplicate copy of the receipt obtained after the payment contains the code of the branch as well as the date of deposit. This voucher has to be submitted at the time of the written examination.

How to fill the Form?

Candidates should have two scanned copy of their passport size photograph along with the signature. They should possess a valid email ID. The candidate should be very careful while filling the online application form.  Make sure that you fill the details on the appropriate spaces. After filling up of the application forms candidates are advised to submit it online. Once it is submitted, you will be provided with a registration number as well as a password which has to be used for future references. Don’t forget to take a printout of the application form before submitting it.

  • Last Date of Receipt of Online Applications: Last week of June, 2012
  • Date of Commencement of Examination: First week of August, 2012
