Profile:

Punjab Public Service Commission was established under the Government of India. The commission was established under Article 315 of the Constitution of India. The commission is comprises of a Chairman and seven other members. Mr. Sanjit Kumar Sinha is the Chairman of the commission at present. The Commission comes under the control of Secretariate staff under rule 13 of Punjab Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) Regulation 1958. Gurpreet Kaur Sapra is the secretary to the commission. The commission is reponsible for making recruitment of candidates on government posts in the state of Punjab.

Job Profile:

The Punjab Public Service Commission invites applications from eligible candidates for making recruitment on the posts of Sub Divisional Engineer in Civil/Mechanical or Electrical trade. Selected candidates will have to work in the Department of Public Works (B&R) Punjab.

Eligibility:

Candidates who wants to work as Sub Divisional Engineer in Punjab Public Service Commission, should meets with the age criteria set. Candidates should be more than 18 years and less than 37 years of age as on 1 January 2011. Candidates will get relaxation in age as per rules of Government of Punjab. Also this relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates only.

Educational Qualification:

Degree in Engineering from recognized institute or university. The streams in which the engineering should have been done are Civil/Mechanical/Electrical. Candidates, who have done engineering done in any other discipline or stream are advised to not to apply for the post of Sub Divisional Engineer in Punjab Public Service Commission.

Sub Divisional Engineer (Civil): 53 posts.
Sub Divisional Engineer (Mechanical): 4 posts.
Sub Divisional Engineer (Electrical): 13 posts.

Pay Scale: The salary that will given to the selected candidates is Rs. 15600-39100 per month with the grade pay of Rs. 5400 in addition to it.

Application Fee:

Application fee of Rs. 200 is required from the general categroy candidates. For SC/ST?OBC candidates, the amount of application fee is only Rs. 50. The demand draft is the only mean through which application fee should be paid by the interested candidates. The Demand Draft should be made in favour of Secretary, Punjab Public Service Commission only.

Selection Process:

The process of the selection of candidates includes a written test followed by a personal interview test. Candidates are required to get passed in both of these examination. Otherwise, their selection will not be possible on the specified post.
