Subordinate Services Commission was re-designated as Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on 26th September, 1977. Making recruitment to Group C and Group B posts in departments of Government of India is the main responsibility of SSC. Nine regional/sub-regional offices located at different states of India consitutes the network of Staff Selection Commission. A Chairmen assisted by two members and a secretary or controller of Examination, heads the commission. The commission can also advise the Government of India about the method and mode of recruitment.

Job Profile:

Staff Selection Commission is organizating an All India Examination on 28 August 2011 for recruiting eligible Indian nationals on the post of Sub-Inspector in Central Police Organization. Staff Selection Commission invites both online as well as offline applications for the post. Candidates are advised to go through the detailed instructions available on the website.

Eligibility:

Candidates must be either a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, a subject of Bhutan etc. Candidates are required to have age more than 20 years and also below than 25 years. 25 years is the maximum age limit set for the post of Sub-Inspector in Central Police Organization. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 25 June 1986 and not later than 23 June 1991. The upper age limit is relaxable for Central Government Civilian Employees as per rules of Government of India.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates are required to possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent for applying for the post of Sub-Inspector in Central Police Organization. Candidates who have not acquired the educational qualification as on the closing date of reciept of application i.e. 24 June 2011 will not be considered eligible for the post. Uneligible candidtes are advised to not to apply for the specified position in CPOs.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will get salary of Rs. 9300-34800 alongwith the Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

Application Fee:

Candidates are required to submit an application fee of Rs. 100 by the means of a Central Recruitment Fee Stamps only. The CRF stamps are available at head post office all over the country. No application fee is need to be submitted by candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH/Ex-Serviceman/Women categories.

How to apply:

Online mode of application: Candidates can apply online at the official website of Staff Selection Commission. All interested as well as eligible candidates should apply online upto 21 June 2011.

Offline mode of application: Application in the prescribed format should be submitted on or before 24 June 2011. Candiates from far flung areas, should send the application form complete in all respect on or before 1 July 2011. Candidates are required to send their applications to any of the nine regional or sub offices of Staff Selection Commission.
