Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI) came into existence in 1921 for providing excellent teaching service in the field of science and technology. The institute is affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. HBTI has two campuses - the east campus and the west campus. HBTI offers 13 undergraduate programmes in Electronics, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science Engineering and Chemical Technology, Biochemical Engineering, and Food, Oil and Paints and Plastic Technology. HBTI has received financial aid from the World Bank for development of its infrastructure, for installing new laboratory equipments, for maintenance/repair of old laboratory equipments, for funding lecturers for research in foreign universities, and for overall growth of the university.
