TNPCEE or Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Exam is an entry level test conducted by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu for candidates who are seeking admission to all Professional Courses in Tamil Nadu.

Admission Procedure Details:

The rank of the students is based on their performance in the TNPCEE and Class 12 Board Examination. The Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examination is conducted for 100 marks, while the +2 examination is conducted for 200 marks for each subjects and so marks secured by the candidates in class 12 examination in subjects like chemistry, physics and mathematics are normalized to 50 marks, 50 marks and 100 marks respectively for these subjects.

Pattern of TNPCEE:

*There are six papers of 50 marks each containing objective questions from Biology, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Related Subjects, Vocational Subjects and Aptitude test in Architecture for B.Arch students.

* For Medical program, the candidates are required to appear in first two papers, while for admission in Engineering and Technology program; one has to qualify second and third paper.

*Usually the paper consists of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics subjects of 10+2 level.

Eligibility for TNPCEE:

• The candidates have to pass 10+2 or equivalent qualifying examination from a recognized Board.

• The applicants, who are appearing in the qualifying examination in the same year of entrance examination or are waiting for result, are also eligible.

• The candidates, who desires to seek admission in courses like Bachelor of science in fisheries, Veterinary science, Forestry, Agriculture & nursing, BPT, BHMS, BSMS, B. Pharm, BDS and MBBS should have secured an aggregate of 60% of marks in subjects like zoology, botany or biology and 60% of aggregate marks in chemistry and physics and 140 marks out of 200 in all the aforesaid subjects put together.

• For admission into B.E. and B. Tech programs, the candidates must have secured 60% marks in Mathematics and 60% in Physics and Chemistry taken together and aggregate of 140/200 in all the above subjects taken together.

• Relaxation is offered for candidates falling under DT/MBC/ST/ST and other backward classes

• The applicants need to meet domicile requirements of the state.

• Candidates belonging to other states are restricted to seek admission to some of the professional courses offered by the TNPCEE.

• The upper age limit for the candidate is 21 years as on 1st July of the year of admission. Relaxation of three year is there for SC/ST candidates.
