UKSEE BHMCT is a test organized by Uttarakhand Technical University in Dehradun for the admissions into the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Courses. This entrance exam is conducted by the University usually in the month of May. Uttarakhand Technical University is one of the most prestigious Universities in India offering various Bachelor courses for the students in different colleges in Uttarakhand. For this exam 90% of seats are reserved for the residents of Uttarakhand and remaining 10% for the candidates outside the state.

Structure of UKSEE BHMCT

The good score in the written test is the basic requirement for the admission. The written test is an aptitude test consists of 75 questions carries 75 marks. The time allotted for completing the test is one and a half hours. The test is of objective type format and it is mainly to evaluate the general awareness of the candidates. Each correct answer carries one mark and no minus mark is given for the wrong answers. The number of wrong answers marked should be noticed and it should be used to determine the merit list of the candidates.

Syllabus for UKSEE BHMCT

The syllabus for the UKSEE BHMCT test is mentioned below. It includes questions from four important sections. They are

Reasoning & Logical Deduction

  • Syllogisms (logic based questions), Identification of logic & selection of correct answers based on the logic.
  • Identification of odd thing / item out from a group
  • Geometrical designs & Identification
  • Fill in the blanks of the series based on the numerical pattern and logic of the series.
  • Completion of numerical series based on the pattern / logic

Numerical Ability & Scientific Aptitude

  • Questions related to common use of science (Physics & Chemistry)
  • Profit & Loss and Interest calculations
  • Health & Nutrition
  • Data / Table analysis, Graph & Bar Diagram and Pie Chart analysis
  • Calculation of fraction, percentages, square roots etc
  • Arithmetical questions up to 10th standard

General Knowledge

  • Sports & Games
  • Latest Who’s Who
  • Historical events
  • Geography including Tourist Places / Spots
  • Current affairs relating to Business & Trade
  • Current affairs / Events (Political, Social, Cultural & Economic)
  • Countries & Currencies

English Language

  • Adverbs and Adjectives
  • Antonyms and Synonyms
  • Complete / Improvement of the sentences with correct use of Pronouns, Verbs, Adverbs
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Meaning of Phrases & Idioms
  • Reading comprehension’s followed by questions

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria required for the candidates to appear for the UKSEE BHMCT exam is to pass the plus two examinations with at least 50% of marks. The SC/ST candidates require only 45% marks for appearing for the test. The students who will appear for the last year exams can also apply. They should have to submit their eligibility certificates at the time of counseling session.

How to Apply?

The application form will be available from the Head post offices of different cities in Lucknow, Meerut and New Delhi etc. The candidates can download the application form from the official website of the University. The application fee is Rs.1000/- for the general category students and Rs.500/- for the SC/ST candidates.  The University sends the form in post after receiving the request letter of the candidate along with the demand draft in the name of the Finance Officer of Uttarakhand Technical University.

How to fill the Form?

The candidates must read all the instructions given in the prospectus before filling the form. The candidates name, signature, contact number, mailing address should be filled correctly. Do not staple or fold the application form. All the details in the form should be correct. A passport size photograph should be pasted at the relevant column. The demand draft should be enclosed with the application form. The candidates ensure that the application form should be reached the concerned office before the duedate.

Score Validity

The score of the exam is valid for one year. After that period new notification will be released for the admission for the next academic year.
