UPSC Mains Psychology (Paper II) Papers


There are in total 9 papers In Union Public Service Commission entrance exams of which only 4 papers are optional. Candidates are given a list of subjects out of which they have to choose two subjects (two papers for each subject). Psychology is one of those optional subjects and is included under Social Sciences group. A candidate is required to clear the Preliminary exam in order to sit for the mains exam. The Paper pattern of Paper II of Psychology is similar to that of the Paper I paper.

The question paper is printed in two languages, Hindi and English. Candidates are required to answer in the medium which is specified in their Admission Certificate. They also have to specify the same in their answer booklet in the space which is provided in the answer book for this purpose. Candidates won’t be allowed any marks if they write their answers in any other language as specified in the admission certificate.

Candidates have to attempt question 1 and 5 which are compulsory and any other 3 questions from the rest of the six questions with at least one question from both section, Section A and Section B. The full mark for Psychology Paper II is 300 marks and time allotted is 3 hours.  The candidates have to attempt 5 questions of 60 marks each. Candidates are also advised that they should not exceed the word limit in questions where word limit is specified.
