The UPSC Main Santali Paper II is an entrance exam conducted by the UPSC for selection of perspective candidates to the respective posts available in the UPSC. This exam in conducted every year and every year thousands of candidates apply for this exam.

Qualification for appearing in this exam:

The minimum eligibility for the candidates to appear for this exam is graduation through B.Tech/B.E/B.Sc./BBA/BCA or any other equivalent course. Diploma holders can also apply for this exam. Students who are in the final year can also apply for the exam.

Scoring and Negative Marking:

The paper consists of 12 questions carrying equal marks each; no negative marks are given for the wrong answers.

Mode of Exam:

The paper is to be answered in Santhali language, and is a written paper which is to be written on the answer booklet provided for the purpose.

Format:

There are only reasoning and subjective type questions; no objective questions are asked. Marks are divided unequally throughout the paper. The paper consists of two parts; part I and part II with both parts carrying unequal weightage.

Paper Pattern:

The paper consists of two subdivisions namely part I and part II. Part I includes questions pertaining to the standardization and the characterization of the Santhali language, whereas Part II comprises questions related to the history of the Santhali Language.

Marking:

The paper is of a total of 300 marks. The paper consists of a total of 12 questions which carry unequal marks in slots of 15, 20, 40 and 45 marks. The first question is of 45 marks. There is no scope of negative marking for the incorrect answers.

Schedule:

The candidates are given a maximum of 3 hours. Answer sheets are taken away immediately after the completion of the scheduled time.
