Uttar Pradesh Board Intermediate Mathematics Papers
The Uttar Pradesh board of high school and Intermediate education was started in the year 1922. In Uttar Pradesh a few secondary school come under the Indian Council of School Education (ICSE) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), but most of the Secondary schools require the recognition of the UP Board. Mathematics is one of the most important subject in all schools and is the basic form of learning and improving solving mathematical skills and calculations, be it day to day calculations, mensuration, commercial arithmetic etc.
Sectional Division
There are no sectional divisions in this paper, only marks of the questions in the paper varies.
Question Paper’s Pattern
Since this paper has no sectional division all the questions are aligned one after another. The paper has thirty questions in all and all the questions are compulsory and the candidate has to attempt them. Some questions individually carry options, but not all the questions. The pattern of this paper is very simple, without any sectional divisions. There are small questions, medium and long questions too. The small questions are easy and long questions are difficult. Depending upon the difficulty level, the marks of the questions also vary. Some questions carry two marks, some carry three or four marks, difficult questions carry five or six marks. Internal options are provided in selective questions whereas other questions have no options.
Marks Allocation
The total marks in this paper are one hundred. The first few questions carry a total of twenty marks, that is, each question carrying two marks. There are no sections or parts in this paper. All the questions are aligned serially and the marks are assigned beside each question. The initial questions carry two marks. Then nearly eight questions carry three marks each. The marks of the questions range from two to six, depending upon the type of question. After the marks questions, come the 4 marks questions which are about six of them. Then the next four questions carry six marks each and the last two questions carry six marks thus, making a total of thirty questions and hundred marks. The number of questions depending upon marks is not fixed.
Duration of Exam
The time allocated for this paper is three hours.
