Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur
Established in the year 1987 the University is named after shri Veer Bahadur Singh who was once the C.M. of UP. The location of the university is at a distance of around 11 km from jaunpur and has a large campus of around 172 acres which is divided by Jaunpur-shahganj road.
The various academic programmes offered in the university includes the master of applied Psychology (MAP), M.B.A. (Business Economics), Master of Human Resource development (MHRD), M.B.A (finance and Control), M.B.A. (Human Resource Development), Master of Mass communication (MMC), Master of Science (Biotechnology), Master of science in applied microbiology, Master of science in Environmental Sciences, Master of Business administration, MBA (Agri Business), Master in business administration ( ecommerce), PhD in (Applied Psychology, Business economics, Financial studies, HRD and Mass communication), B. tech. (Electrical engineering), B. tech. (electronics engineering), B. tech. computer science and engineering, B. Tech mechanical engineering, B. Tech Informational Technology (IT), B. Tech. Electronics and Instrumentation engineering, Master in Computer Application and Bachelor of pharmacy.
The various departments and institutes include the UNS institute of Engineering and technology, Institute of Business management, Institute of Pharmacy, Department of financial studies, and Department of mass communication, Department of Business economics, Department of Human resource development, Department of Biotechnology, and Department of applied Psychology.
The university has a lot of other facilities like a large Central library supporting all the courses in the university. The university owns a hostel called as Vishwakarma Hostel. The university provides separate apartments to the faculty in the faculty building. The university owns a stadium for extracurricular activities and a guest house. The university also has a girl’s hostel fully furnished with necessities.
The university has separate councils for their students like the sports council, academic council, Executive council, finance council, Examinations committee (It takes into account all the examinations conducted by the university), National service scheme committee and board of faculties.
