The history of sixty years and thirty years of service is behind the successful Vijay Marie Hospital and Vijay Marie School of Nursing respectively. The main aim is to educate the students and to make them responsible individuals of the future society. Along with the knowledge the individuals are also taught to handle the life and death situations and to stand stable and aid their best with sincerity and dedication.

The Beginning:

The Hospital began functioning in the year 1948. As the years passed on it became a 200 bedded General Hospital and is still serving the needy. In the year 1973, the School of Nursing has started to function and the thirty fifth batches has also crossed in 2008-2009 and has started successfully the next academic year.

Courses Offered:

The priority course that is offered in this college is Basic B. Sc Nursing which is for four years and M. Sc nursing.

Features:

Total numbers of students are about 160 calculated from all over India. Most of them join from the Southern states. The Faculty strength is 24. A good and value based nursing education that is provided in this college. The focus is not on any particular student, but on making the students know the true value of education and service. A very good development of students and a high standard education is the motto. A good Teacher Guardian ship is maintained that will help the students perform better in their academic studies. Interactive teaching methods are chosen for the better understanding of the topics to the students. The co-curricular activities are also very much appreciated.

Library:

A good library that can seat 120 students at a time is available. A collection of over 2300 books and 966 journals and 630 magazines are viewed for reference in the library by the faculty and the students.

Laboratories:

The second floor totally comprises of labs. The Maternal Child Health lab, Community Health Nursing Lab, Fundamental of nursing lab, Anatomy lab& Physiology lab, nutrition lab, Microbiology lab, Biochemistry and Pharmacy labs are the ones that are functioning in the second floor. A very well furnished airy and spacious computer lab is also present which has 14 systems and has the capacity of accommodating 40 students at a time.
