National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur
National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur is known as NIT Hamirpur is one of the 20 NITs is wholly supported in terms of funds by govt. of India. The NIT was functional in the year in 1986 as a REC in H.P. and got its university status in the year 2002. It was ranked top among the NITs in terms of infrastructure. The campus is at a height of 900 meters above sea level and is at a distance of 4 kms from the bus stand.
The NIT Hamirpur has currently seven departments namely Mechanical engineering, Architecture, Applied Sciences and Humanities, Electrical and electronics engineering, Electronics and communication engineering, management & social sciences and computer science and engineering.
The facilities provided at NITs include Computer Science, Central Library, Health Center, and Sports. The computer centre is well equipped with many computer nodes and wi-fi technology suitable for communication. The library of the institute developed in the year 1986 is a central library which supports all the courses offered at the NIT Hamirpur. The health center of the institute is specially equipped with facilities for emergency and the basic needs as well. An ambulance is available all the time. Sports facility is provided for various games for overall development of the students.
The Hostel facility consists of 8 hostels including the one hostel for girls. Special Residential quarters are available for staff and the faculty of NIT Hamirpur. Many clubs like the Entertainment club, Dimension club etc. are continuously working for the students.
The admission to the B. Tech. programme in NIT Hamirpur is done according to the result of All India Engineering Entrance Examination or AIEEE. The AIEEE exam is conducted every year by CBSE and lakhs of students appear in it every year. The admissions to the M. Tech. Programme are done on the basis of GATE entrance examination conducted every year by the Indian Institutes of technology or the IITs.

2. I appeared in 10+2 exam from punjab my parent are also doing job in punjab, but we basicaly belong to H.P State. we have our own house and agri. land ln H.P. sir, in which category I am eligible either H.P or other state quota.
