National Institute of Technology, Goa formally known as Regional Engineering College is one of the renowned and premier institute of technology of India. NIT, Goa is temporarily set up at the GEC (Goa Engineering College) campus located at Farmagudi, Ponda, Goa .the NIT, Surathkal has been given the responsibility to work as the mentor institution for the newly established NIT, Goa by the Minister of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

Infrastructure:

NITG students are provided with excellent facilities in the GEC campus like computer centre, library, for co-curricular and extra -curricular activities, for sports and games. They are provided with two cafeterias and hostel as well as dining facilities is provided in the campus. Transport facility is also provided to the students and faculty from nearby places to the campus.
Courses offered:

NIT, Goa offers a host of undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctoral level courses to the students in various disciplines.

Admission procedure:

You must have completed your 10+2 with chemistry, physics and maths from a recognised university or board. If you have this, you can sit for AIEEE, based on which only would you be admitted to the undergraduate courses. 50% of the seats are reserved for the students from Goa, Dadra, Lakshadweep, Diu, Nagar Haveli and Daman. Rest 50% seats are reserved for the students across the country, admitted on the basis of merit. Moreover, 6 seats have been allocated for foreign nationals under DASA (Direct Admission for Students Abroad) scheme.

Placement:

Students get lucrative placement in IT companies like HP, SAMSUNG, MICROSOFT, ORACLE, INTEL, Yahoo, EXETER, AMDOCS, etc.
