Vaidh Shankar Lal Memorial College of Education was set up in the year 2006. This is an autonomous and co-educational institution. The college works under the control of the registered Devbhoomi Development Society.

The college is  affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla. The college is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college is approved by the State government of Himachal Pradesh.

The Vaidh Shankar Lal Memorial College of Education offers the following undergraduate,  diploma and post graduate courses in the field of education:

The undergraduate course available in the college is B. Ed (Bachelor of Education). The duration of the course is one year.

The post graduate course available in the college is M. Ed (Master of Education). The duration of the course is one year.

The diploma course available in the college is JBT (Junior Basic Training). The duration of the course is two years.

Eligibility criteria for getting admission:

The candidates, who have passed Bachelor’s degree in science, commerce or humanities stream with  at least 45% marks, are eligible to apply for the B. Ed course. The institute admits candidates for B. Ed course based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

The candidates, who have passed Senior or Higher Secondary examination or its equivalent with at least 50% marks, are eligible to apply for the JBT diploma course. They must get qualified in the JBT Common Entrance Test (JBT CET).conducted by H.P. Board of School Education, Dharamshala in order to get admission for the JBT course in the college.

The candidates, who have passed B. Ed degree in relevant discipline, are eligible to apply for the M. Ed course. They must get qualified in the Common Entrance Test (CET) and counseling conducted by the Himachal Pradesh (H.P) University, Shimla in order to get admission for the M. Ed course in the college.

The college offers the facilities such as library, laboratories, canteen, separate girls’ & boys’ hostel, sports & games, conference hall, computer lab, internet connectivity, and extra-curricular activities.
