Paper pattern

The basic electronics paper is required in almost every field and hence is it a dire requirement to do well in the subject. The paper consists of total 5 questions. All these questions are compulsory and the candidate has to answer all of them.  The candidate gets internal choice of questions, though. The main five questions are divided into many two sub questions. These sub questions carry 7 marks each.

Distribution of marks

The paper carries a maximum mark of 70. The paper is divided into five questions and each question carries14 marks. These main questions are divided into two sub questions. These sub questions carry seven marks each. The paper gives clear instructions to make assumptions whenever required. Candidate is required to give details of the assumptions that he makes. Any symbols or expressions that are used should be properly explained.

Duration of the paper

The paper should be finished within two and a half hour. Before the start of the exam, the candidate is given 15 minutes so that he can read the instructions and questions very clearly. The candidate is required not to rush while reading the paper. He should read the paper carefully and make proper choices. Making wise choice of the questions will go a long way in scoring good marks.

About the subject

The basic electronic paper forms the foundation of the knowledge of engineering. The paper includes an array of topics and so the candidate is required to cover each and every topic while preparing for the exam. A proper analysis of the exam paper and its pattern should be done by the candidate if he wishes to score well in the exam. A candidate should paper well from the previous years’ question papers.
