Gujarat Technological University, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics-3 Papers consists of numerical that are necessary in Biomedical Engineering. The paper if full of numerical and there are theorems that need to be proved. There are also expressions that have to be derived by the candidate.

Paper pattern

The paper id divided into six main questions. Each question is then sub divided into three sub questions. These sub questions may or may not be divided into sub questions. The first two questions are compulsory and all the remaining questions have choices in or format. For example, a candidate has to do one of the two questions that are numbered as three, one of the two questions that are numbered as four and so on.  Along with numerical there are also derivations that the candidate has to derive.

Duration of the exam

The paper lasts for three hours.  The first fifteen minutes that are given before the start of the exam should be spent reading the question paper carefully and making the choices that he will be attempting.

Marks distribution

The paper carries a maximum of 70 marks. The first two questions are compulsory and carry a total of 34 marks. These marks may or may not be equally divided. The remaining 3 questions carry 14 marks each. There are separate markings for the sub questions. The marks for the sub questions are indicated on the right hand side margin of the question paper. Whenever the sub questions are further divided, the marks are not indicated, the candidate has to estimate the weight-age of the question.

About the subject

The subject is based on engineering mathematics of semester 3. The numerical have to be completed within the given time hence one must have a good speed of solving number based problems. The sums are also theorem based and so one must learn the theorems thoroughly.

Tips to keep in mind

The candidate must have a very good speed of solving numerical. All the assumptions that are made while solving the paper must be clarified (as and when required).  If a candidate uses any symbols, he must explain it along with the answer that he writes.
