If you are aspiring to become the secretary of a company then you certainly have to take courses from Institute of company secretaries of India or ICSI. Different type of programmes is put forward by the organisation for the students to choose from. Professional programme is one of these and under module iii of the same the students have to learn Advanced Tax Laws and Practice.

Importance of the subject

The subject deals with laws regarding taxes and the effective implementation of the same. The subject is one of prime importance since those who are aspiring to become secretaries of good companies have to know about all the rules regarding different kinds of taxes and making them effective. It is with this view the subject has been introduced.

Mode of paper

A total of 8 questions are present in the paper which is divided into two different parts A and B. All the questions in the paper have sub sections within them. Out of the eight, three are present in part A and any two of the three have to be answered in this part. Five are present in part B. In part B, the very first question is compulsory. From the remaining questions in the section the candidates can choose any two and answer them. The questions involve constitution of India and the questions are both objective and descriptive.

Evaluation of paper

The time that is given to a candidate for answering the paper is three hours. The total mark of the paper is 100 and out of 100, 35 marks need to be scored in order to pass.
