In this modern world, the basics of management are not only important at the corporate level but at the individual level as well. Apart from the basics of business law, the elements of business law and management subject also teaches a person to analyze and use their skills to the optimum level. Hence this subject under Institute of Company Secretaries of India(ICSI) Foundation Programme helps in developing the overall personality of an individual.

Brief Contents:

Part A: Elements of Business Laws- Laws relating to contract, sale of goods, negotiable instruments, partnership and elements of company law.

Part B: Elements of Management-  Management process, Planning, Organising, Staffing, Direction and Co-ordination and Controlling.

Pattern of the paper:

The total marks of the paper is 100 and the total allotted time is 3 hours. The paper is divided into 2 sections of 4 questions each. The 1st question of both the sections are compulsory and two of the remaining questions in each section have to be answered. Each question is further subdivided into several short type and long type questions and hence the paper covers a wide range of topics.
